Process
As the co-managing editor, I oversaw the redesign of San José State University’s print magazine Washington Square: The Magazine after a nearly three-year hiatus. I developed a guiding vision for the storytelling, including the creation of new departments and opportunities for reputation building, recruitment and advertising. I supervised the work of two staff writers and other content creators and was the final approving editor on all stories. I helped translate the stories into digital formats, ideating ways to enhance stories with multimedia content online and cross promoting the content through various channels: print version of the magazine, on social media, in internal and external emails.
I also produced two feature articles, “Beam of Hope” and “Starting Their Next Chapter,” along with the table of contents, editors’ note, digital exclusives, preparing for what’s next, among other copy as needed
